Silliker Brand Evolution

The growth of an international leader in food safety, quality and nutrition

Founded in 1967, Silliker is one of the pioneers in Food Safety and Quality.

Its founder, Dr John Silliker, a microbiologist known for its work on Salmonella, began his own project surrounded by 4 professionals. His philosophy “to provide clients with more than simple analytical results and bring them practical solutions to their problems” contributed to make Silliker a reference in terms of food safety and quality.

In 1988, Silliker was acquired by Institut Mérieux which allowed the company to expand its capabilities from 12 labs in 3 countries to over 45 labs in 18 countries.

Silliker, as Mérieux NutriSciences historical base, rapidly extended its service offering in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East to meet its clients’ increasing needs.

As part of Institut Mérieux, Mérieux NutriSciences is dedicated to protecting consumers’ health throughout the world, by delivering a wide range of testing and consulting services to the food & nutrition, agrochemicals, pharma and cosmetics industries.
